Astra LT AB, a member of the FTD LT Cluster’s EXPO group, has embarked on a groundbreaking project: the design, manufacture, and installation of a 29-meter-long stone wool curing oven line, also known as a stone wool polymerization chamber line, crafted from black steel. This cutting-edge project is set to be implemented in Sweden for an internationally renowned company, leader in the stone wool industry with manufacturing facilities across the United States, Western Europe, and Scandinavia.

While FTD LT Cluster’s EXPO Group member Astra LT AB is primarily known for its stainless steel tanks, this project represents a significant leap into a new product category. The company has invested in the development of specialized technologies and expertise to produce these advanced curing lines, highlighting its versatility and ability to adapt to emerging industrial demands.

Notably, prominent FTD LT Cluster’s member Astra LT AB is the only company in the Baltic States capable of delivering a project of this magnitude from start to finish, without relying on subcontractors. From initial design to the final on-site assembly, Astra LT AB handles every stage of production, ensuring unparalleled quality and precision.

Complex Engineering Challenges

Producing and assembling a stone wool curing oven line requires exceptional expertise in mechanical engineering and precision manufacturing. The line’s construction demands:

  • Advanced mechanical processing to shape and refine black steel components.
  • Complex assembly, including the integration of bearings and lifting mechanisms.
  • High-precision alignment of all structural parts, ensuring the entire 29-meter line is perfectly straight, with deviations of no more than 0.1 mm.

Such demanding specifications require not only state-of-the-art technology but also the skilled hands of experienced engineers. FTD LT Cluster’s EXPO Group member Astra LT AB has proven its capability to meet these rigorous requirements, delivering products that stand out on the international stage.

Seamless Installation in Sweden

Once the curing line is manufactured, Astra LT AB will transport and assemble it at the client’s site in Sweden. The end-to-end service demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing tailored, high-quality solutions for global clients. This is not the first project of its kind for Astra LT AB, but it is among the most challenging, further solidifying the company’s position as a trusted partner for complex industrial solutions.

Partnering with Industry Leaders

The project’s client, Paroc, is a globally recognized brand in the stonewool industry. By entrusting FTD LT Cluster’s EXPO Group member Astra LT AB with the production and assembly of this critical manufacturing line, Paroc underscores Astra LT AB reputation for excellence, reliability, and innovation.
